We’re being told...

In Kaliningrad, we had practically no problems with the paperwork, except that we weren’t able to submit my husband’s application for a residence permit on the first try, but we did manage it on the second.

The greatest stress came from health issues. It turned out that I thought I had brought healthy children, but they were actually insufficiently examined and undertreated. Plus, whether because of stress or because it was part of the adjustment period, the whole family was sick nonstop during the first year; I was the only one who held up. I practically lived at doctors’ offices that first year: the children had one injury after another, and I went to the trauma clinic five times; then there were illnesses discovered during medical examinations by Russian doctors, some even requiring surgery; then one child even fainted, not to mention ordinary colds.
And even the services we received through private healthcare in Germany turned out to have damaged our child’s health. The braces system installed in Germany had been fitted incorrectly, and as a result the child’s jaw was twisted.
The lenses prescribed in Germany were set for the wrong eyesight, and so on.

At one point, even my husband’s health began to fall apart.

At one point, I had a breakdown and thought that I would have been better off living in ignorance and knowing nothing, rather than suddenly having so many problems land on me. And although, paperwork-wise, everything went, you could say, excellently, things came to light that no one had expected.

Only later did I realize that this year had not been given to me for nothing, that these were the trials I had to go through. And in fact, Russia, with its Russian doctors, saved my children. May God grant those doctors and everyone who helped me then with advice and guided me along the right path great health, and I bow deeply to them.🙏

And the most interesting thing is that after that first year of adjusting to life in Russia, it was as if someone had cast a spell😂 Despite the injury-prone sports the children do, despite the cold weather and winds, nothing serious has happened health-wise since—not even a single extra sneeze😂
