The discussion of the most important migration issues will take place from 27 to 29 November in Pskov at the First All-Russian Conference, “Time to Live in Russia.” This event, organized with the support of the Federation Council, Rossotrudnichestvo, and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, aims to assist people relocating who wish to start a new life in the Pskov Region and other regions of the country.
Representatives of regional governments, public and non-profit organizations, as well as leading experts in migration policy, will gather at the conference. Participants include representatives of Rossotrudnichestvo and regional governments, Anatoly Bublik, Chair of the Path Home Autonomous Non-Profit Organization, political scientist Sergey Panteleev, and Senator Elena Afanasyeva. They will discuss current issues related to values-based migration, the sharing of experience in working with impatriates (foreign citizens who share traditional Russian values), and support for people forced to relocate.
Pskov Region Governor Mikhail Vedernikov emphasized that the region has already established itself as a successful example of working with people relocating there, as recognized by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. Elena Afanasyeva proposed extending this experience to other regions of the country.
Pskov Region also became the first region in Russia to establish the office of Commissioner for Work with Compatriots and Migration Issues. New approaches to the integration of impatriates are actively being developed here. As part of the conference, participants will be able to learn about the region’s unique initiatives, including the creation of a Resource Center to train specialist commissioners.
Foreign citizens wishing to move to Russia can use the special “Time to Live in Russia” portal, which helps them gather the necessary documents and have an initial interview with potential employers. This is an important step toward simplifying the migration and integration process in Russian society.
The conference in Pskov promises to be a significant event for discussing migration issues and supporting people relocating, as well as a platform for sharing experience among regions and organizations.
