The Russian government has approved a draft of the State Program to Assist the Voluntary Resettlement of Compatriots Living Abroad to Novgorod Oblast.

Extending the compatriot resettlement program in Novgorod Oblast until 2030 is a logical continuation of the implementation of the Concept of State Migration Policy.

Novgorod Oblast has traditionally been one of the active participating regions in this program.

Participants in the state program and their family members are entitled to obtain Russian citizenship under a simplified procedure (bypassing the temporary residence permit/residence permit stages).

The program includes compensation for relocation expenses, payment of state fees, and lump-sum settlement allowances. The specific amounts will be approved by the regional government.

This is a positive signal for those planning to return to Russia, as Novgorod Oblast has strong logistical potential (between Moscow and St. Petersburg) and a developing industrial cluster.

We await further information from the government of Novgorod Oblast.
