About the school

We are being written to...

My daughter started school on September 1. But since the new school building was not yet ready to receive students, until December 1 we were staying in another school building. And on the 1st of this month, we finally moved. Yesterday I attended a parents' meeting at the school. We were given a tour and shown off the wonderful results. Of course, I understood that the building was new and everything inside would be new. That is pleasant in any case. But there was something that pleasantly surprised me, and even more so, since I had never seen anything like this in schools in Latvia and hadn't even thought that such a thing could exist. I'll start from the beginning. Like all schools, it is guarded. But our children will be issued a card to enter the school, and the card must be used 3 times: to enter the school grounds through the gate, then the school building, and then through the turnstile. According to the teacher, the school is served by "a very serious security company, with serious people." I talked about it with my daughter at home, and she confirmed that the man at the entrance is very strict and meticulous. Yesterday, to get into the school myself, I had to show my open bag.

About the classrooms. This is where the discoveries began for me. The school has, of course, Russian, physics, mathematics and other classrooms. But what was a revelation to me were the pottery classes, the choreography room (there's a photo above), the life-safety classroom, a video-whatever-it-is room (they'll be making reports and other things related to TV), and a wonderful music room (also in the photo). Of course, the school is still being furnished, and many things are still missing, but, as I understand it, everything is already there, though not everything has been brought into the classrooms. The life-safety classroom has 3 mannequins where children will learn first aid; they are specially designed for this, with even blood vessels and other things inside to make it more realistic. My daughter has a foreign languages classroom. The desks are individual, with office chairs and a speaker where you can connect a computer or tablet for lessons. Every classroom has 3-in-1 boards: a board for writing with markers, a chalkboard, and an interactive board where you can view files, move things around with your hand like on a tablet, and perform various actions. I couldn't even dream of classrooms like these. Delight, shock, amazement—all in one. What am I getting at? Russia knows how to surprise!😍😄
