We moved from America. 
When I talk about what’s going on in schools, people don’t believe me. They say that SOMETHING LIKE THAT can’t happen. But it’s an absolute nightmare. And it didn’t start yesterday, or five years ago, or even twenty.

We moved from Texas, which hasn’t been conservative for a very long time. By the way, Trump nearly lost it in the last election. It was almost 50–50. Texas has turned into a liberal cesspool. All that’s left is empty bravado. Texas was the country’s last hope for salvation. But... In short, “the house is lost.” 
The horror unfolding in Texas’s schools, colleges, and universities can’t be described in a single post.
But I’ll just tell you about the school district our child attended. A little snapshot.
Local libraries, including school libraries, have a great many books in the children’s and young adults’ sections that contain blatant propaganda for the “alphabet mafia” and pornography. I’ve seen these books myself, so we stopped going to the library, and I forbade my child from taking anything out of the school library.

My mother-in-law recently wrote to me and said that a monthly meeting of the local school board had taken place, where 22 people spoke, but only 5 were against books with pornography in school libraries. The others were glad that the school board had allowed these books. They even said, as in the film “Kidnapping, Caucasian Style”: “If you’re not interested, don’t get in other people’s way.” If you don’t want your children to read, let them not read; we have freedom of speech. 
The most frightening thing is that of the 17 people who so fiercely defended children’s access to this filth, 15 were either teachers or librarians themselves. There was even a woman pastor...

I watched the meetings. I read the comments from locals... Folks, it’s terrifying. It’s terrifying that 80% of the population of a small provincial town supports this, a town with lots of workers and farmers. And this is Texas. 
I wrote to our former neighbor. Her children go to the local school. I said, “Have you heard what’s going on?!” Though it’s no news to me. What’s strange to me is that people have only sounded the alarm now. And our neighbor replied: “So what? I keep an eye on what the kids bring home from school...” And that’s the attitude of most so-called right-wingers.... As long as they have their McDonald’s, football, a backyard where they can sit and shoot the breeze about what losers liberals are, as long as there’s beer and a bubble of security, they’re fine with everything. Most people think, “Not my problem.”
Thank God we’re here, in Russia... Thank God that after years of packing our bags, we finally managed to leave... Thank God that Russia is fighting for children and families and for the future... Thank God.
